Collaborationists Artist Statement
All members of the Collaborationists live in Madison, although coming from diverse cultural backgrounds.
We are well travelled, having lived, worked and exhibited worldwide.
We began by meeting weekly, each with stimulus works to present to the others.
We worked on the pieces we have selected and then the following week handed them off to one of the others in the group.
Individually we contribute to the work's development as we see fit, while also critiquing and discussing our thoughts and feelings at our weekly meetings.
We continue to work on a piece until we have arrived at a consensus of completion, at least that was our goal but in the press of finishing 23 works in the 15-weeks of our existence.
